The Fiber Optic Product Division of Weed Instrument Company was initially established through acquisitions of APEC and EOTec/3M product lines. These companies each had over ten years experience in providing specific fiber optic solutions for plant networking and process control.

Weed Instrument has continued to expand and improve these product lines and was the first company to receive FM approval for fiber optic based products to be utilized in hazardous areas.
